Hi, I’m Ryan Gomez. I design digital experiences

that feel simple, human, and a little more alive.

About

I’m a first-generation immigrant who’s always been drawn to creative problem-solving. I started out studying Information Systems at the University of Delaware, but along the way I discovered UX design and it instantly clicked. I loved how it blended empathy, strategy, and storytelling, and I’ve been hooked ever since

Outside of design I’m into video editing, photography, gaming, and spending time with my dog Kodak, a miniature American bulldog who always keeps me laughing. Whether I’m sketching ideas, editing a video, or walking Kodak, I try to bring the same sense of creativity and intention into everything I do

Google UX Design Professional Course Certificate

March 2025

I created Cinema Bites, a movie theater ordering app that helps users quickly see which food items are in stock and which are not. As the first full project I designed on my own, it holds a special place in my journey. I took it from the initial concept and wireframes all the way through the usability study and final design.

March 2025

Health Hub was the second project I completed in the course. The focus was on responsive design and making health documents easier for users to access. I worked on creating cleaner layouts, clearer wording, and a softer visual style to deliver a more seamless and easy to understand user experience.

Star Tempest Studios

June 2025 - PRESENT

Role - Lead UX/UI Designer (Volunteer)

I currently work with Star Tempest Studios as the Lead UX/UI Designer, collaborating with their team to create new screens and menus for their upcoming project. The work is still in active development, but my focus remains on designing clear navigation and fast access to information. As a gamer myself, this project is both a chance to contribute to an industry I have admired for years and an opportunity to grow my UX skills by taking the lead in the design process.

Social Justice Collaborative

July 2025 - PRESENT

Role - UX Designer (Volunteer)

This volunteer project focused on creating a more accessible and bilingual experience for the existing Social Justice Collaborative website. I applied my newly developed skills to improve navigation, reduce decision fatigue, and reorganize information so the matrix-style structure feels more streamlined and easier to use.

Right now I’m diving deeper into motion design. I love the idea of a website that isn’t boring or static but instead feels like it has a pulse. Motion gives it life and even a glimpse into the creator behind it. You might notice some of the ways I use motion throughout this portfolio, from micro interactions to little Easter eggs hidden here and there. For me, it is the small details that create the biggest and most lasting impact, and I enjoy blending movement with technology to make designs feel alive
